SS DAGGER GROUND ROEHM WITH UNUSUAL SCABBARD FINISH AND VERTICAL HANGER
Here is a nice
original Ground Roehm Honor Dagger by Eickhorn with the unusual feature
of having a finish on the scabbard like a camera from the period that
was done by the original German Owner. Very Good condition blade
with SS Motto and partial Eickhorn double oval Trademark. Blade
shows light sharpening to very outer edge or is remains of Roehm
inscription removal with some very minor edge nicks (see photos).
Lower crossguard has the number 2 assembler number and Roman Numeral
III. Grip exhibits some wear, especially from the clip on the
very early vertical hanger. No large chips or missing wood and
nice silver grip eagle and enamel SS button. Vertical Hanger has
the patent number on the reverse clip and has belt loop. Now for
the very unusual part: The scabbard has a black finish over the
blue (can be seen where there is some wear to the edges) that is the
style seen on German Cameras of the period. That crinkel
finish with a pattern. I have only seen two or three other SS
Daggers with this finish in fifty years of collecting. Overall
very good and priced correctly for an original Ground Roehm at $2995.00
